Who do you want the Patriots to play in the first round?

The Patriots play Houston today, but what’s more important is the other games. Today’s games will determine who the Patriots play in the first round of playoffs. So, which team would you rather see the Patriots have to play?
In the wild card race:
NY Jets: make it with a win today
Baltimore Ravens: make it with a win today and won. They get a wildcard.
Pittsburgh Steelers: won
Houston Texans: won
Miami Dolphins:out
Jacksonville Jaguars: out
Denver Broncos: out
Five of the teams need a win and have to depend on other teams for their fate. Who would you like to see face the Patriots in the first round? My vote goes to the Jaguars, Steelers, or Ravens.

The Wildcard has been around for 15 years. Red Sox have gotten the Wildcard more than any other club: seven times. Historically, the Wildcard isn’t a bad position for the Sox to be in. You’ll notice that the Sox have a pretty good record against the Angels in postseason, but until 2004, struggled with the Yankees, who will be our probable opponents in the ALCS.

A Red Sox Wild Card Timeline:

1998: Knocked out in ALDS to Cleveland in 4 games.

1999: Beat the Indians this time in the ALDS and advanced to ALCS against the Yankees, where they only won one game of the series.

2003: Flew past Oakland in the ALDS and again met the Yankees in the ALCS. This time they put up much more of a fight, falling to the pin stripes in a devastating game seven.

Well, they got in. It was an ugly road to the playoffs, but the Red Sox have clinched a postseason spot for the fifth time in the six-year Terry Francona era. After last night’s almost-enough-effort in front of the Fenway faithful, where the Sox gave up 3 homers for the first time since 2004, the Sox didn’t get to shower beer around Fenway just yet. Instead, they had to wait ’til one in the morning to celebrate without their fans, as the Rangers lost to the Angels in Anaheim, handing the Sox the Wildcard spot in the most unorthodox way possible.
So, thanks Angels. I guess you’re really looking forward to losing to us, again.
To say the Sox have stumbled into the playoffs is an understatement. In fact it is very reminiscent of the struggle Ace Venture once had trying to exit a mechanical rhino. You see the similarities? Despite losing their last five games (one fewer than the season’s longest losing streak), Boston is in and, of course, the players are promising better results in the playoffs.
Dustin Pedroia couldn’t have said it better, “It doesn’t matter how you do it, as long as you’re in.”
With five games remaining in the season, (one more against Toronto tonight, and four against Cleveland) the [...]
