In yet another run-‘n-gun, high-scoring affair on Sunday, the Patriots handled the Buffalo Bills 38-30.
The Pats have a knack for accumulating yards, on both sides of the ball.
Simply put, there’s never a dull or uneventful moment when watching a Patriots game. Sunday’s game against the Bills was no different.
Quarterbacks
Tom Brady was almost perfect on Sunday. No, really, his 142.6 quarterback rating was very close to the perfect 158.3 rating. With 252 yards and three touchdowns, “Tom Terrific” made another giant leap towards another MVP award. He hit all his receivers in stride and completed 21 of his 27 pass attempts. Like I said, he was just about perfect.
Grade: A
Runningbacks
Who would have thought that, within two weeks of the Pats losing two of their runningbacks, they would rush for a season-high 200 yards against the Bills? BenJarvus Green-Ellis was a horse on Sunday, rushing for 98 yards on just six carries. And how about Danny Woodhead? That little guy couldn’t be touched, rushing for 42 yards on three carries.

Wide Receivers/Tight Ends
Ho, hum. Another Patriots game; another dominant performance from Patriots wide receivers. This time, the love was spread around, but Randy Moss still got his [...]

The Pats finally got it done on the road. The team beat the Buffalo Bills 17-10 in Orchard Park. Quite a nice early Christmas present for Kraft’s Kingdom.
Quarterbacks:
Tom Brady’s 115 yard performance was his worst of the year. True, Tom is banged up. And, as usual, is under near constant pressure. Neither of these factors make Brady’s job any easier. But at the end of the day, New England won.
My Grade: C
Runningbacks:
The corps made one of the leagues worst ground defenses look like one if its best. The Bills D allows a league-worst 4.8 yards per carry on the year, but the Pats ‘backs averaged only 3.2 per. They’ll be getting some coal in their stockings tomorrow morning.
My Grade: D
Receivers/Tight Ends:
Great touchdown reception by Randy Moss in the second quarter. Randy finished with 70 yards on five grabs. While Moss was criticized, incorrectly, about his effort against Carolina, he’s the only one who really showed up Sunday. Wes Welker tripped himself up twice, and Sam Aiken let two deep throws fall through his hands. As for the tight ends, no balls went their way, but they did a solid job blocking.
My Grade: C
Offensive Line:

Most Patriots fans couldn’t believe their eyes when they looked at the score going into the fourth quarter of Monday night’s game against the Buffalo Bills. For just the fourth time in their last 54 games, the Patriots were losing going into the final fifteen minutes of play. Their high-octane offense had been put on choke mode by a seemingly inspired Buffalo defense and now they were losing to the Bills. Let me repeat that so it sinks in: The Bills.
The same team that fired it’s offensive coordinator just over a week ago, signed the high-flying and high-maintenance receiver Terrell Owens and has had only two winning seasons in its last six. For the first three quarters, the Buffalo Bills showed little signs of their dysfunctional past as they made all the necessary plays to take a one touchdown lead over the heavily favored Patriots going into the fourth quarter.
But when the stars align over Gillette stadium and a player like Tom Brady goes from frustrated to motivated to determined, incredible things can happen. The last three minutes of Monday’s game reminded the entire Patriot nation what we love about our team. After an 18-yard touchdown [...]
