Celtics looking to continue domination on the road

Road trips are a way of life in the NBA. Eastern teams go on long trips out west and vice versa. They are a great way to test the toughness and character of a team.
Right now, the Celtics are halfway through a four game road trip. This trip is a south to southwest trip. Boston won at Miami and Charlotte and will take on San Antonio on Thursday and Oklahoma City on Friday.
The results have been great so far. The Celtics have looked excellent through the first two games of the trip. Miami put up a good fight in South Beach but Boston flexed its muscles against a Heat team trying to join the elite of the Eastern Conference. Kevin Garnett led the way with 24 points and 13 rebounds.
Then the Celtics dominated the Bobcats last night in Charlotte. The Bobcats came in riding high with four straight wins including a big upset win over the Cavaliers. The Celtics took control early leading by 11 after the 1st Quarter and 23 at halftime.
These wins give Team Green 5 straight wins. That’s fantastic news after the Celts went 3-3 after starting the season 6-0. Boston now sits at 14-4, which puts them in a tie with the Magic for the best record in the East.
The remaining two games on the road trip will be tough. The veteran Spurs are hitting their stride after an uneven start and have a 5 game winning streak of their own. The Garnett vs. Duncan matchup is always a joy to watch. Meanwhile the Thunder are making some noise so far this season. After only winning 20 games in their final season in Seattle and 23 games last year, Kevin Durant has his team above .500 at 9-8. Watching Durant go up against the Celtics defense will be fun to watch.
After one game at home against the Bucks the Celtics will hit the road for three games against the Wizards, Bulls, and Grizzlies. That makes seven of eight on the road. This could be one of the pivotal stretches of the regular season for Boston. They are certainly off to a strong start. Home is where the heart is. But the road is where great teams show heart.
